The terrible fires roar on tonight in Victoria and our hearts go out to all those that have lost loved ones;their
homes and all their treasured belongings. Whilst watching the news footage it struck me that the Australian people
have a tremendous community spirit that unites in times of tragedy. The countries leaders have had much compassion
towards the victims and they themselves are struggling to hide their emotions in the public eye.I am far from political but do recognize that measures that are being taken promptly to help the people in very
practical ways; being new to the country this is very comforting to know that the country's leaders look after its people in their hour of need. Please pray for all australians caught up in these awful conditions.I cannot even begin to comprehend what goes through the minds of the arsonists that start these fires.

MAGPIES
Its magpie season here, this means they get a bit irrate at times; a friend had one swoop down and dive bomb the back of her head and it drew blood!!
Poor Claire went for a little bike ride and came flying through the door 10 mins later sheet white and shaking!! (still pushing bike)
Yes you've guessed it.............four magpies took an instant disliking for her and swooped her all the way home the poor girl was terrified!!
I didn't think she'd ever go out again but hayho off she went today Good job the wearing of a cycle helmet is compulsary here!!
I was advised if she sticks eyes on the back of a hat or helmet the magpies will leave her alone.

video

The watoto children's choir from Uganda came to perform at our church last week and they were fantastic. They were the happiest children ever with beautiful smiles. The one thing that really moved me was that when each of them gave a small testimony of what had happened to them the other children sat and cried and others looked on in admiration. The stories were very sad but they were full of the spirit and very thankful for what God had done in their little lives to turn things around. They were all orphans and now live in basic homes with a new mum and 7 other children in each home. The homes are built by volunteers from lots of different churches around the world. The choir travels to raise money - its a fantastic ministry.

Communicate GOD'S Word
I love this picture of Claire and her friend from the church . This picture has been blown up and is on a wall in the kids bible study room along with the yellow text.
We feel right at home in our new church - as can be seen in the picture Claires a lot happier too. Up until 7 weeks ago she wouldnt go to bible school at all; but now we have found a new church she is very happy.
